WEEK 3 : IIUM GALLERY FOR MY VERY FIRST TIME SINCE IM ENROLLED
SITE VISIT TO IIUM GALLERY
For the week 3, Prof. Dr. Suhaimi commanded us to visit the IIUM Gallery. To be honest it was my first time being in the gallery even though I am already acknowledge the gallery location. It was a really great experience as I can feel the fundamental of the IIUM deeper. The task was to search for things inside the gallery that is related to Maqasid Syariah. So we have come out with three things.
The first one is fulfilling the hifz al-nafs. The first picture illustrates the challenges people faced during the COVID-19 pandemic, which had many negative effects, such as the loss of loved ones, economic hardship, and mental health struggles. According to SDG 3, the goal is to ensure good health and well-being for all, which aligns with the concept of hifz al-nafs in Maqasid Sharia, emphasizing the protection of life. This principle aims to ensure that people live in good health and are safeguarded from viruses or chronic diseases. From the picture, it is evident that both SDG 3 and hifz al-nafs share similar objectives in promoting health and well-being for everyone.
Secondly, we discuss on fulfilling the hifz ad-deen. Based on the second picture, we can see the rector and former rectors. Those rectors are people that take the responsibility to hifz our deen and at the same time fulfil the forth sustainable development goals which is quality education. The truth is education is the most important part to shape a strong religious belief. It teaches us in practice the way Islam works in all aspects.
Thirdly, we express on fulfilling hifz al-nasl. The third picture shows that the divorce law has been introduced. This law plays a crucial role in protect the rights of children and to make sure that lineage is preserved. Furthermore, this law also has fulfilled the 16th Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) which is peace, justice and strong institutions. It can help to address issues such as custody, visitation and financial support and also can maintain a stable environment for children after divorce.
Great reflection! You clearly explained how the divorce law protects children and supports the 16th SDG.
